Some houses have a face that tells a story. A story of things that may have happened. They inspire my imagnation. They give me a feeling of the passing of time. Cultures seem to be quite different in dealing with ageing. In Germany, old houses tend to be renovated or they get demolished. In Scotland, the culture seems to accept much more that buildings will get old. They are still part of the landscape and the heritage. You can find many old buildings that have been abandoned without being demolished. They are part of the landscape and the story of a place. I appreciate this as it gives me a feeling for the time which has passed.
